“Curios” – ( Peace – Love – Unerstandin’)

14”x!8”  Framed Original  Mixed Media Marquetry – Sold

This marquetry cartoon has it’s origins in the music I listen to while I work. Nick Lowe wrote the tune, “(What’s so funny ‘bout) Peace, Love and Understanding “; Elvis Costello made it a hit, and I drew the first penciled version of my answer soon after hearing it for the first time in ’98. I’ve drawn and painted several versions of it in the succeeding years, finally converting it to the medium of marquetry more than ten years later.

Koa, Zebrawood, Tiger Maple, Anigre, Cypress, Sycamore, Ash, Red Oak, Pecan, Harewood, and Ironwood, with details in colored inks, pencils and charcoal. Prints available through my site at Fine Art America.
